First place: Try Not to Get a Virus by Jinghao Li
In well over 1,000 lines of code, Jinghao showcased advanced programming skills and created a game with a unique premise: you play as an operating system trying to avoid getting a virus. Which of the nineteen different popular (and not so popular) operating systems will you choose? Each comes with its own HP (or HewlettPackards), virus spawn rate, score multiplier, and hitbox. Try Not to Get a Virus is a truly impressive submission that is well deserving of the top prize in this year's awards. Congratulations, Jinghao!

Second place: Grim Reaper at Work by Annabella Alvarado-Mireles
In Annabella's enchanting submission, you play as a grim reaper trying to fill your monthly quota by collecting ghosts. Despite its spooky premise, Grim Reaper at Work is sure to make you smile due to Annabella's charming, all-original artwork. The judges were also impressed by the details Annabella included in her submission, including background music and extra visual effects like sparkles. Awesome work, Annabella!

Third place: Making Lemonade by Bostyn Tsukamoto
What could be cuter than a kid with a lemonade stand? A duck with a lemonade stand, of course! Bostyn's submission, Making Lemonade, turns this adorable concept into an addictive game. Can you smash enough lemons to help the duck make lemonade? The judges loved Bostyn's original artwork for the duck and lemons--and especially liked the splatter effect when the duck smashes a lemon. Well done, Bostyn!
